Cappella Palatina

The Royal Palatine Chapel was founded by King Roger II in 1131, the year following his coronation and was built over a period of ten years on top of a pre-existing church.
The main altar is made up of various stones, mosaics and porphyry pitches; in the two side chapels: on the right is the Holy Eucharist, on the left is the marble statue of San Pietro Apostolo, a work of 1726 by the Palermo sculptor Giovan Battista Ragusa. In short, absolutely incomparable in its charm
